Proven Effectiveness. Documented Over Time.

Telos is among the few treatment programs in the country that has consistently collected standardized outcome data for nearly two decades.

With tens of thousands of data points across depression, anxiety, executive functioning, and behavioral health measures, we can demonstrate measurable, clinically significant improvement.

We know our model works — and we can show you why.

Family Feedback

Our work is grounded in measurable mental health outcomes. At the same time, the most meaningful validation often comes directly from students and parents who describe lasting, tangible change in their lives.

“Our son is finally able to move forward”

Our son just completed Telos. I can say Telos is a godsend. The therapeutic resources at every level are excellent. It takes a lot of courage and trust to hand over your child to an institution 2,000 miles away.

“Truly Exceptional”

Our son spent 17 months at Telos and to say his time was transformative is an understatement. Their focus on helping kids and their families grow and heal is a caring and supportive environment and is truly exceptional.

“Improved my life immeasurably”

I was a student at Telos for over a year. There have never been better experiences in my life than the ones that I had there. The Telos tools have improved my life immeasurably.

“We are forever grateful”

There really are not words to describe how amazing Telos is. From the owners and staff to the therapists and teachers. All are special people with caring hearts and amazing training. Though it took longer than expected, our family is soooooooo much better now.

Stories From Families Who’ve Been Here

Behind every program is a family looking for real change. These stories offer a closer look at that process — what it takes, and what’s possible on the other side.

What Families Ask Most

Telos works with young people who are struggling with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges that are interfering with success at home, in school, or in relationships. Many students arrive after outpatient therapy or other interventions have not been enough, and they need a higher level of structure, support, and therapeutic care.

Common concerns include depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, family conflict, low self-esteem, social challenges, school refusal, behavioral problems, and substance use. Many Telos settings work especially well for students on the autism spectrum, although our students come with a wide variety of backgrounds and clinical needs.

That depends on the level of care you are seeking. If you are looking for outpatient support, Telos offers a well-developed Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) designed to help adolescents and families receive meaningful therapeutic support while continuing to live at home.

  • If you are seeking a residential treatment setting, Telos offers several specialized environments designed for different clinical needs.
  • Telos Academy serves adolescent boys struggling with anxiety, depression, learning differences, and other mental health challenges. The structure is similar to traditional adolescent residential treatment programs, combining therapy, academics, and skill development.
  • Geneva is designed for adolescent boys who require a higher level of structure and supervision. These students may have struggled in less structured settings and benefit from a specialty environment with more consistent support and accountability.
  • Carter House serves adolescent boys who need focused treatment for primary or co-occurring substance use issues, integrating recovery support with therapeutic care.
  • Telos U is a co-ed program for young adults that combines structured living with therapy and life-skills education to help students prepare for independence.
  • Vineyard is an in-network option for adolescent and young adult males whose families rely on insurance coverage. Because insurance-based treatment typically involves shorter lengths of stay, the program focuses on assessment, stabilization, skill-building, and comprehensive aftercare planning.

Yes. Creating a physically and emotionally safe environment is one of Telos’ highest priorities. Our programs operate under state licensing and national accreditation standards that require clear policies, staff training, and oversight designed to protect the wellbeing of every student.

Students are supervised by trained staff in a structured residential setting. Our teams include licensed therapists, experienced residential mentors, academic staff, and clinical leadership who work together to maintain a predictable, supportive environment. Staff receive training in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and appropriate supervision practices so that challenges can be addressed safely and respectfully.

Emotional safety is just as important as physical safety. Telos works intentionally to create a culture of respect, belonging, and accountability. Bullying, harassment, or targeting of any kind is not tolerated, and concerns raised by students or families are taken seriously and reviewed carefully.

Parents entrust us with what matters most to them. For more than two decades, Telos has remained committed to maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment where students can focus on healing, growth, and building a healthier future.

Yes—when treatment is delivered with the right structure, expertise, and consistency, meaningful change is very possible. At Telos, our programs are designed to help students stabilize emotionally, develop healthier coping skills, repair relationships, and build the confidence and life skills needed to succeed after treatment.

Telos has been collecting standardized outcome data since 2006 using validated measures that track improvements in areas such as emotional health, family functioning, and overall wellbeing. Across tens of thousands of data points, the results consistently show significant improvement for most students during the course of treatment.

While every student’s journey is unique and no program can guarantee outcomes, our long-term commitment to evidence-informed treatment, experienced clinicians, and strong family involvement has helped many young people make lasting progress and move forward with greater stability and direction.

All Telos programs accept out-of-network insurance benefits, and many families are able to receive partial reimbursement for treatment through their insurance plans.

Our only in-network option is Vineyard, which provides a shorter-term treatment model for families who rely primarily on insurance coverage. Vineyard offers in-network services for Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP).

If you would like to understand your coverage, our team is happy to help. Contact us and we can perform a quick, free verification of your insurance benefits to help you understand what your plan may cover.

The average length of stay in our residential programs is about 10 months. This timeframe allows students to stabilize, develop new skills, and practice healthier patterns in relationships, academics, and daily life.

The exception is Vineyard, our insurance-based program, where treatment typically lasts 60–90 days. Because insurance-funded treatment generally requires shorter stays, Vineyard focuses on assessment, stabilization, skill-building, and strong aftercare planning to support continued progress after discharge.

For more than two decades, Telos has been widely recognized by many professionals and families as a gold standard in residential treatment for adolescents and young adults. Our programs combine strong clinical care, structured living, meaningful relationships, and a clear focus on measurable outcomes.

One of the things that sets Telos apart is our commitment to tracking results. Since 2006, we have used standardized outcome measures to evaluate student progress in areas such as emotional health, family functioning, and overall wellbeing. With tens of thousands of data points collected over time, this commitment to research and transparency helps ensure that our treatment approach continues to improve and remain accountable to families.

Telos also offers multiple specialized treatment environments, rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Each setting is designed to meet different clinical needs, allowing students to receive the level of structure, support, and therapeutic focus that best fits their situation.

Most importantly, Telos emphasizes the power of healthy relationships. Change happens when students experience consistent support, clear expectations, and genuine connection with therapists, mentors, teachers, and family members. This relational foundation—combined with evidence-informed care—is what allows many students to make meaningful, lasting progress.
